These Mammoth Ivory bark chips are found on the Alaskan tundra, and are the result of the native peoples tool making process. Ancient people in the north fashioned their tools out of ten thousand year old Mammoth tusks by striking them with stone tools. These chips were the result and were just discarded.

These are called Hei Matau or Maori fishhooks. They come out of the legends of the Maori peoples of New Zealand and bring protection over water and great abundance to the owner.

These are fashioned from Mammoth ivory and are worn as pendants.
